You're easy to love

When you say to yourself "I'm easy to love", how does that feel?

A beautiful therapist I saw years ago, asked me; "When your children were first born, what did they have to do for you to love them?".  Nothing of course.  That is the greatness of unconditional love.

Yet as our children age, and we age, there are more and more 'rules' in order to get that 'love'.  Like if the jobs are done, or we hit a goal, or if our husband puts his socks in the washing machine.  When the goal posts are hit, then we can unlock the love basket.

By living with a set of rules that internally (or externally) we need to comply with in order to 'love', we set ourselves up for disappointment, and our relationships with others and ourselves suffer.

If we can learn to just 'love' because we can, without all the regulations, we can start to tap into that unconditional love again.  This is the most important step for ourselves when it comes to our self esteem.  You will never be perfect, there will always be something that doesn't score a goal, but if we can start to love what is, where we are right now, the ugly self talk can take a back seat.

Try it out for one week "I'm easy to love", and notice what changes start to happen in your life.  Let me know xx

Have a great day x
